Since 1984, Okabashi Brands has been a family owned and operated shoe company in the small town of Buford, Georgia.

Our shoes have garnered a loyal following with over 35 million pairs of shoes sold. Today, over 99% of American-worn footwear is made abroad. We are proud to be in the 1% that has chosen to stay and thrive in the USA.

Our Name

Our name is inspired by the Japanese concept of wellness.

Our original shoe designs were created using principles of reflexology. The theory behind reflexology is that each area of the foot corresponds to different organs and systems of the body. Applying pressure to key areas of the foot is believed to bring relaxation and healing to the corresponding area of the body.

As a family owned company, we value stewardship and care for the environment. While other strive to become zero-waste and eco-friendly, we've operated this way since day one.

Our proprietary material is made in the USA and is 100% recyclable. We operate a closed loop manufacturing system and invite our customers to send back their well loved and worn Okabashi shoes for recycling, and receive 15% off their next purchase.
