An Important Update from Okabashi
A Commitment to Quality and People
At Okabashi, every pair of sandals we create tells a story—of quality, sustainability, and the dedication to keeping manufacturing 100% in the USA. Today, we’re sharing an important update about our pricing and the values that guide our decisions as a company.
For almost 10 years, we’ve proudly kept our prices steady. But starting February 1st, the price of each pair of Okabashi sandals will increase by $5. This decision wasn’t made lightly, and we want to explain the reasons behind it.
A Legacy of Responsibility
Our founder, a visionary who valued people and the planet, made a promise that still guides us today. As Sara Irvani explained, “My father made a commitment to our team and our customers. He wanted to see how people are treated and the materials that go into our products.” Staying true to this commitment means sourcing high-quality materials domestically, which has become more expensive over time. It also means ensuring every member of the Oka Brands team earns a living wage, regardless of our margins.
Supporting American Manufacturing
Okabashi is proud to call Georgia home, operating from our factory in Buford. Governor Brian Kemp once remarked, “Okabashi not only stayed open for business during the pandemic, they continued to grow and donated thousands of shoes to frontline workers. We’re proud Okabashi calls the Peach State home, and we look forward to their continued growth.”
These words highlight our mission: to create not just sandals, but opportunities, community, and resilience. Our decision to adjust pricing reflects our commitment to sustaining this mission for years to come.
What Won’t Change
While prices are changing, here’s what remains the same:
-
Our 2-year guarantee ensures you can trust the durability and comfort of every pair.
-
Each sandal is crafted with care to provide the stability and support you’ve come to rely on.
-
We’re still 100% American-made, using domestically sourced materials to create products that prioritize both sustainability and quality.
Grateful for Your Support
We know this may not be welcome news, and we truly appreciate your understanding. As a valued part of the Okabashi family, your support allows us to uphold our values, take care of our team, and deliver a product we’re proud to stand behind.
From all of us at Okabashi, thank you for believing in what we do. Together, we’re not just making sandals—we’re making a difference.
